Assistant Athletic Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Coach

Dominican University New York, located in Orangeburg, New York, seeks an Assistant Athletic Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Coach to assist with coverage and in the implementation and supervision of all athletic training activities. The Assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation of injuries within the University’s comprehensive sports medicine program. The Strength and Conditioning Coach is responsible for designing, scheduling, and supervising all strength and conditioning workouts for 13 teams. This is a ten-month position from August 1 until May 31.


Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred. Current NATABOC certification and NATA membership and current NSCA Certification as a CSCS. Current or eligible for NYS Athletic Training License. Minimum 1-year experience as Certified Athletic Trainer.

Per Diem Option:

Athletic Training Per Diem work is available on an as-need basis. Work hours depend on the game and practice schedule for the week. Minimum of 20 hours a week at $40 per hour.

Strength and Conditioning Coach must be NSCA certified with a CSCS or NASM certification. Hours and wage are dependent on the team’s individual needs and the number of athletes on the team. Minimum of 10-15 hours a week.
