Assistant Director of Residence Life

Dominican University New York seeks an Assistant Director of Residence Life in the Student Development department to provide support for the Director of Residence Life and support for various programs within the Residence Life department. Position #1: Assistant Director of Residence Life- Student Conduct

This Assistant Director is responsible for making decisions and recommendations to the Director of Residence Life regarding the level of an alleged violation and the process required to resolve a complaint or incident in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct. Ability to conduct investigations, assist with case management, maintain conduct databases, assist and or complete campus crime reports, and distribute incident reports to the appropriate conduct officers.

Position #2 Assistant Director of Residence Life- Housing and Operations

This Assistant Director is responsible for the housing area of the Office of Residence Life, the damage billing and assessment processes, assigning undergraduate and graduate students, and coordination of all opening and closing procedures. The Assistant Director also serves as the primary liaison with Facilities, Custodial Services, Student Accounts, and IT.

Both positions will assist with an on-call duty rotation, the recruitment, training, selection, and supervision of Resident Assistants, and other areas within Residence Life.


Both positions require a Bachelor’s Degree. Master’s Degree preferred in student affairs, higher education administration, human and social services, facilities management, business administration, and communications or related fields. Counseling and interpersonal skills, strong communication and organizational skills. One – three years of student residence life, personnel, or other higher-ed experience is required—proficiency in Microsoft Office, expertise in Maxient Student Conduct Software, Jenzabar, and other housing software.
