Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice (Tenure Track)

Dominican University in Rockland County invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice commencing in either Spring 2016 or Fall 2016. This is a tenure-track position. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach a wide range of criminal justice courses in a 4/4 course load
  • Advise and mentor a diverse undergraduate student population
  • Create an effective learning environment through the use of a variety of instructional methods
  • Communicate with local criminal justice agencies to procure internship opportunities for students
  • Serve on College-wide committees


  • Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or Criminology required
  • J.D. degrees cannot be considered
  • Post-secondary teaching experience in the field of Criminal Justice preferred
  • Ability to teach: Introduction to Criminal Justice; Research Methods in Criminal Justice; Criminology; Victimology
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and assessment
  • Understanding of the integration of technology into teaching and learning in the classroom
  • Familiarity with on-line instruction
  • Evidence of scholarly productivity
  • Motivation, initiative and commitment to teaching
