DESCRIPTION:All members of the Dominican University New York community are cordially invited to attend this year’s Honors Convocation & Alpha Chi Induction ceremony on Monday\, November 17 at 6:30 p.m. in the Doering Charger Center\, located in the rear of the Hennessy Center Gymnasium.\n \nThe Honors Convocation celebrates Dominican University’s most accomplished students who have made the Dean’s List for one to three years. Each student will receive a colored tassel to wear at Commencement\, denoting the year(s) spend on the Dean’s List. \nThe Alpha Chi Honor Society is a national honor society which recognizes academic excellence and is highly selective. Alpha Chi is open to juniors\, seniors\, and graduate students who are ranked academically in the top 10%.  Alpha Chi members receive recognition as distinguished students and members of one of the largest and most prestigious college honor societies in the world.\n \nTime: 6:30 PM \nLocation: Doering Charger Center (Rear Gym\, Hennessy Center) \n

SUMMARY:Campus-wide Day of Service
DESCRIPTION:The DUNY Interfaith Connect team will be hosting a Campus-wide Day of Service on Tuesday\, November 18th from 12:00pm-3:30pm in the Granito Extension.   \nWe will be packing hygiene kits that will be donated to the Afya Foundation for their humanitarian projects.  This project is made possible through the support of the Faith and Health grant we were awarded by Interfaith America. \nThese enhancements will help cultivate interfaith competency through planned service work with diverse populations and through guided discussions highlighting the commonalities and differences in the ways diverse faith traditions approach topics related to healthcare\, well-being\, spirituality\, personal vocation\, care of the earth\, and concern for others. \nFor more information\, please contact: Dr. Mary Walsh Roche mary.walshroche@duny.edu \nTo learn about the Afya Foundation\, please visit: https://afyafoundation.org/ \n \n  \n  \n  \n
