Dominican University New York, located in Rockland County, 20 miles north of New York City, seeks a Director of Career Development to lead the University in the development of strategies leading to student employment and success. The Director of Career Development provides career planning advice and assistance to students regarding employment, educational and internship opportunities. Responsibilities include: serving as the primary source of recruiting and career information for the campus community; providing workshops for students on career development topics; developing and maintaining strong working relationships with employers and graduate/professional school representatives; administering standardized tests and analyzing results; sponsoring major career-related events and programs.
Requirements: Master’s Degree. Minimum of 5 years career development, human resources or related field. Demonstrated ability to successfully cultivate and expand relationships with employers; experience with career services information management systems, internship programs and employer relations; understanding of career development issues in a university setting; excellent communications, inter-personal and counseling skills.
