Dominican University New York is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic candidate for the position of Human Resources & Financial Affairs Administrative Assistant. The position is responsible for providing strong administrative support to the Director of Human Resources in all areas of the HR function. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to compliance, HRIS administration, recruiting, event planning, and special projects. This position also provides administrative support to the Vice President of Financial Affairs/CFO.
Human Resources Department Support:
- Maintains an organized filing system of personnel records ensuring all employee documents are completed.
- Assists departments with the recruiting process by following proper procedures to update job descriptions, create job postings, place advertisements on various job sites including ADP Workforce Now, etc.
- Conducts new hire orientation by providing guidance in regards to benefit enrollments.
- Supports the annual open enrollment benefit process, various audits, the performance appraisal process, training and development efforts and assists with coordinating annual and special events.
- Rolls various programs out and responds to unemployment claims as necessary, assists with the leave management process and updates employee information on various platforms.
Financial Affairs Department Support
- Assists the Controller’s office during various audits
- Assists in preparing for policy renewals on general liability program.
- Maintains accurate credit card record tracking system
- Collects financial and employee data and develops reports as requested. Create and edit correspondence, presentations, reports, and other key documents and schedules various meetings.
Required skills & qualifications:
Excellent organization, computer and communication skills. Maintains the highest level of professionalism, integrity, trust and confidentiality and have strong interpersonal skills. Strong proficient in Microsoft Office and ADP Workforce Now. Bachelor’s Degree or some college a plus.
