Online Professional Tutor (Writing) Part Time

Dominican University New York (formerly Dominican College) located in Rockland County, 20 miles north of New York City, seeks an enthusiastic candidate with a strong orientation toward student-centered service to fill the position of Online Professional Tutor for writing.  This is a part-time position. The Online Professional Tutor has a year-round schedule and hours may include evenings and weekends.

A completed graduate degree in a relevant discipline is strongly preferred but the exceptional candidate with some graduate credits may be considered. Excellent organizational, computer and communications skills. Must be self-directed and goal oriented. Previous tutoring or teaching experience required. Online teaching experience a plus.

Responsibilities include providing tutoring services online in an individualized setting to assess academic strengths and weaknesses, conducting workshops focusing on the instruction of a specific skill, maintaining appropriate records utilizing Academic Success Center (ASC) database, developing curriculum and study aids as well as encouraging students to utilize the ASC as a resource.
