Dominican University New York invites applications for the position of Resident Director (RD). This is an immediate opening with an anticipated start date of August 1st, 2024. Under the direction of the Director of Residence Life, the Resident Director will be responsible for creating and maintaining a vibrant program in the residence halls in which the greatest educational, social, and cultural values for the individual student will be realized. The RD will enforce, support and uphold the core values and policies of the university. The RD will be responsible for overseeing a Residence Hall with approximately 290 students. The RD will provide direct supervision of 10-12 Resident Assistants and will serve on the professional administrator on call schedule. Priority deadline is June 14th, 2024.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree highly preferred in student affairs, higher education administration, human and social services or other related field. Driver’s license required with the ability to drive University vehicles. Counseling and interpersonal skills, strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to make decisions and recommendations with integrity and fairness. Ability to work with a diverse student and staff population. One – three years Residence Life experience (student or professional) or other applicable Higher-Ed experience. Bilingual preferred.
This is a 10 month (August-May) live-in position with the option to have housing supplied during the summer months. This position includes the following:
