Orientation is required for all students: please reinforce this with your student. We have planned sessions that will provide the most crucial information for a positive and successful first year. We hope you will encourage your student to attend and engage with our staff and their peer group.
Please know that we understand the anxiety that may accompany the changes that this time brings, and we have resources on campus for your student and for you. If/when it is time to separate from your child, we will be right there. Under normal circumstances, you would have visited our campus by now and met Sr. Barbara McEneany, our Director of Campus Ministry. Regardless of your faith tradition, Sr. Barbara is always available for your call; if you are missing your child, feeling nervous about being apart, or struggling with any other aspect of your job as a parent.
Keep her contact info handy: 845-848-4031, Barbara.McEneany@duny.edu. Also, please keep abreast of our emergency plans as the COVID-19 pandemic unfolds. We are working hard to prepare for the safe return of our students. If our operations should change, you will be able to access the most up-to-date information on the “Plan for Reopening 2020-2021” tab.
