Hello, I’m Rubina Kaur Singh, LMSW, CASAC. At Dominican University, I serve as a Mental Health & Addictions Counselor, where my role is to support students through the unique challenges of college life. I am also currently pursuing my Doctor of Social Work (DSW) degree at Capella University, further deepening my expertise and commitment to the field.

I understand that being a student today often means balancing academics, relationships, work, family expectations, and questions about the future. It can feel overwhelming at times, and my goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can talk openly, gain perspective, and find tools to cope and grow.

My approach to counseling is holistic and culturally sensitive. I work with students facing stress, anxiety, depression, family and relationship struggles, identity concerns, and substance use challenges. As both a counselor and someone who has navigated the pressures of cultural expectations, I value meeting students where they are and helping them feel understood, seen, and empowered.

In our sessions, you’ll find compassion, honesty, and practical strategies to help you build resilience and confidence. Counseling is not about labeling or “fixing” you, it’s about walking alongside you as you navigate life’s ups and downs, and supporting you in building a healthier and more balanced future.
