Dominican College Names 2017 Person of the Year

Stephen J. Reich, Business Manager of Laborers’ Local 754, will be honored at the College’s Grand Reception on May 5.

Dominican College and its Board of Trustees have named Stephen J. Reich, Business Manager of Laborers’ Local 754, as the 2017 Person of the Year. He will be honored at the College’s 45th Annual Grand Reception on Friday, May 5, 2017. 

The Grand Reception be held at the Old Tappan Manor in Old Tappan, New York, and begins at 7 p.m.

Mr. Reich was chosen as the 2017 Person of the Year based on his outstanding professional leadership, his community involvement, and his philanthropic works. As the Business Manager of Laborers Local 754 for the past eight years, he has handled the day-to-day operations of the local trade union, based in Chestnut Ridge, NY. During that time, he has also served as a Trustee, managing the Pension, Health and Welfare, and Annuity Fund.

Before he was Business Manager, Mr. Reich worked in the construction industry as a laborer, general foreman, and superintendent. In addition, he has generously donated his time and money to support many causes. 

Mr. Reich has served the community over the years through his involvement in the Sons of the American Legion and the Lions Club. He has also worked to raise money for Dominican College and was a Youth Basketball Coach and Lacrosse Club Volunteer. 

The tickets to the Grand Reception, honoring Mr. Reich, cost $350. All proceeds will support the expansion of the Hennessy Center, academic programs, and technological advancements at the College.  To purchase tickets and sponsorships:  www.duny.edu/grandreception2017
