Magha Puja Day
March 3
Magha Puja Day is an esteemed spiritual festivity observed predominantly by Theravāda Buddhists and usually falls on the full moon day of the third lunar month.
This event is a tribute to a unique episode in Buddhist history where 1,250 monks, all individually enlightened and ordained by Buddha himself, spontaneously gathering without prior arrangement. This meeting, often referred to as the “Fourfold Assembly,” took place in the Veluvana Bamboo Grove near Rājagaha in Northern India.
Magha Puja Day is an opportunity to renew spiritual commitments, to gather in fellowship with like-minded seekers, and to tread more mindfully on the journey towards inner peace and enlightenment.
