Conference Overview
In 2027, scholars, educators, and military history enthusiasts will gather at Dominican University New York for an international conference exploring the history and legacy of World War II.
Marking the 85th anniversary of pivotal events including the Battles of Midway, Stalingrad, and El Alamein, the theme of this year’s conference is Turning Points. Papers and panel sessions exploring critical moments, decisions, innovations, and experiences that altered the course of the war and shaped the world that followed are especially welcome.
Although there is a dedicated theme for this year, this remains an open conference inviting proposals that address the full spectrum of World War II history to include battlefields, home fronts, and legacies.

Call for Papers
We invite scholars, educators, and researchers to submit proposals for individual papers and panel discussions addressing all aspects of World War II history. Proposals exploring turning points in the war and their consequences will receive particular consideration.
We welcome interdisciplinary approaches and perspectives spanning military, political, social, diplomatic, cultural, and Holocaust history.

Individual Paper Proposals
Required Components
- Abstract: 300 words maximum
- Mini-Abstract: 50 words or less, for inclusion in the conference program
- Title: 25 words or less
- Author Bio: 100 words maximum
- Keywords: 3–5 relevant terms
Individual presentations will be 25 minutes, followed by 5 minutes for questions and discussion.
Panel Proposals
Panel proposals should include three presenters and one moderator. Each panelist must submit:

- Biography: 100 words maximum
- Keywords: 3–5 relevant terms
Each panelist will have up to 25 minutes to present.

Your registration includes the evening reception, breakfast, lunch, and coffee service during conference sessions.

Registration and lodging fees may be paid online through our digital payment system or by check payable to Dominican University New York. Checks may be mailed to the conference address.

Optional Tours
Extend your conference experience with one of three optional full-day tours on Saturday, May 29, highlighting New York’s rich military and cultural history. Each tour is limited to 30 participants. Final pricing will be determined based on group size and negotiated admission and transportation rates.

Visit the USS Intrepid and the nearby Metropolitan Museum of Art, with time to explore the museums and experience the history of wartime New York.
Historic Hudson Valley
Explore the historic West Point Military Academy Campus and Museum, followed by a visit to Boscobel House and Gardens, an exceptional example of early Federal-period architecture. Note: West Point is an active military installation subject to special security and access protocols.
Long Island
