Dominican University New York in Rockland County invites applications for the position of Lab Manager. This position supports biology, chemistry, and physics faculty by setting up and taking down labs, preparing microbiological media, chemical reagents, and other lab materials as needed. The lab manager is responsible for ordering and maintaining all lab equipment, monitoring budgetary expenditures, maintaining/monitoring inventory and supplies/chemicals, and storing and disposing of hazardous waste materials in conjunction with the Chemical Hygiene Officer. The overarching purpose of this position is to foster a safety mindset in laboratory. This is a full-time,12-month position beginning immediately.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Science (biology, chemistry or physics) with a minimum of two to four years’ related lab experience in a scientific discipline, including but not limited to chemistry, biology, or physics.
Strong verbal and written communication abilities; knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office Suite to include Outlook, Word and Excel; ability to work independently and collectively with faculty and staff; excellent organizational skills.
