Occupational Therapy – Adjunct Faculty 

Dominican University New York’s Occupational Therapy Program is seeking adjunct faculty members to join us in teaching courses across our curriculum in either our well-established nontraditional weekend format or our new one-weekday-per-week format (primarily on Wednesdays). These positions will work closely with the full-time OT faculty members for the same courses. The curriculum is primarily structured to address clients and occupational performance according to the human lifespan.

Requirements for a successful candidate: 

  1. Occupational therapist with initial NBCOT OTR certification 
  1. Minimum of three years of recent clinical experience and expertise with children, adolescents, and/or adults with a variety of issues impacting occupational performance across contexts 
  1. Minimum of an earned master’s degree 
  1. Knowledge of current evidence-based practice, the current Occupational Therapy Practice Framework: Domain and Process, and occupation-based conceptual models of practice and frames of reference 
  1. Current New York OT license or eligibility 
  1. Be available outside of classroom teaching hours to communicate and meet with students and the full-time faculty 

Additional preferred qualifications: 

  1. Knowledge and experience in using Blackboard LMS or other LMS 
  1. Knowledge and experience in the use of Office 365 
  1. Knowledge and experience in post-secondary teaching 
  1. Those who make themselves available for the weekday course sessions will be given hiring priority. 
  1. Bilingual or multilingual skills a plus

Salary: $3,600 or $7,750 per course depending upon the total number of credits.
