Program Details
The online psychology degree at Dominican University offers opportunities for broad experiential learning in preparation for a wide range of employment opportunities in the caring, social, and mental health fields. Courses are particularly geared to emphasize the social and psychological underpinnings of societal issues, and will guide your understanding of the complex inter-relationships that result from individuals interacting with their environment in contemporary society.
A background in Psychology will increase your employability regardless of the career you choose. By studying psychology you will learn about how people develop, think, feel, and act. This knowledge will help you in a variety of settings.
You will receive a solid foundation in general psychology, theory, research, and application. Upon completion of the degree, you will be ready to pursue graduate studies in the fields of psychology, social work, education, guidance and counseling or to start working in any of the various human services and human relations areas, such as mental health, education, or human resources.
The online psychology degree requires 42 credits as well as 36 core general education requirements and 42 credits in liberal arts in order to achieve a robust liberal arts degree.

Courses, Admissions, and Financial Aid
Transfer Credits
Transfer students may be accepted with:
- A maximum of 70 credits from an accredited two-year institution.
- A maximum of 90 credits from an accredited four-year institution .
A minimum of 30 credits must be completed at Dominican University for a degree.
