Dr. Enemchukwu is an infectious disease physician and implementation scientist and currently serves as Director of Population Health Initiatives, Director of Clinical Education, and Director of Viral Hepatitis and HIV-Clinical Care Coordination for the medical division of the NYC Health+Hospitals Correctional Health Services.
In this discussion, we will examine how working towards health equity advances social justice. We will use the HIV epidemic as a case study and explore how a history of structural inequality affects social determinants and results in disparate HIV-related health outcomes for many communities of color. Finally, we’ll discuss using implementation science and community engagement as tools to advance social justice in health.
We’re excited to kick off our first Charger Chat of the semester with a very special guest—Dominican University President, Dr. Martinez!
