Anniversary Reunion for Classes of ’70 – ’73

Welcome to the Classes of '70, '71', '72 and '73 Anniversary Reunion of Dominican University! We are thrilled to invite you to join us for a day filled with celebration, nostalgia, and reconnection.

As a special guest of Sister Mary Eileen O’Brien, you will be treated to an exclusive VIP experience. The festivities kick off with a Welcome Reception at 1:00 PM in the Badami Room of the Granito Center. Take this opportunity to catch up with fellow alumni and enjoy light refreshments before embarking on a tour of the campus at 2:00 PM.

At 3:00 PM, you'll have the chance to enjoy the Spring Concert in the beautiful Convent Chapel from the comfort of reserved VIP seating. Then, cap off the day's events with an Anniversary Dinner at 5:00 PM back in the Badami Room of the Granito Center.

The Aquin Players Present: Cinderella

The Aquin Players of Dominican University New York announces the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein’s - CINDERELLA! as its 2023 spring musical. CINDERELLA! will be presented at St. Dominic’s School, located at Western Highway on the evenings of March 24th and 25th, 2023, at 7:30 P.M. Dominican University New York alumni and present students are actively involved with rehearsal to present another fine Aquin Players’ production to the University community.

The production of Cinderella will be dedicated to Sr. Barbara McEneany, O.P., on both evenings, with a brief dedication ceremony at the end of intermission.  Alumni, families, etc. will be invited; thus, we encourage you to email the two Box Office managers or Dr. James Filippelli to reserve your tickets before they are all sold out.

The quintet will be performing music by renowned composers, including J.S. Bach, Mozart, Dvorak, Florence Price, and the Beatles – as well as a world premiere by American composer Thomas Cabaniss.

Physical Therapy Lab Dedication and Alumni Hall of Achievement

Introducing the John Gallucci, Jr. Physical Therapy Lab

We invite you to join us for a special dedication ceremony celebrating the grand opening and naming of the new John Gallucci, Jr., Physical Therapy Laboratory in the Prusmack Center. The event will take place on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at 11 am.

We are honored to have Mr. John Gallucci, Jr., MS, ATC, PT, DPT, President and CEO of JAG-ONE Physical Therapy, as our guest of honor. Mr. Gallucci is a proud graduate of Dominican University New York, where he earned his Master's degree in Physical Therapy in 2004 and, later, a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2007.

This event will be followed by the Hall of Achievement ceremony at 12 PM.

We are honored to announce our 2023 Slate of Inductees, Emily Gerbehy '20, Leigh Weiss '10, and John Gallucci, Jr. '07.

Anti-Trafficking & Awareness Summit: Keeping Our Teens Safe

Join, WONDER GIRLS & community partners, for the 1st annual Human Trafficking & Awareness Summit: Educating Our Community to Keep Our Teens Safe on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Dominican University. This event is in support of Human Trafficking Awareness Month.

1 p.m. - Self-Defense Workshop with Jackie Lue Raia & Wonder Girls Ambassador Ya'Nisse Lynch

1:30 p.m. -Online Safety Workshop with U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, Child Exploitation Team (HSI)

2:00 p.m. Q&A Panel Discussion with Center For Safety & Change, Rockland County DA, and HSI, followed by a networking session.

You will learn:

  • What is child trafficking, and how does it impact our country?
  • What is online poaching/ grooming?
  • What are the facts and statistics behind trafficking in the United States compared to other countries?
  • As a teen, how do I protect myself and my friends?

Alumni Reunion & Hall of Achievement

The Alumni Hall of Achievement was inaugurated in 2007 to recognize the commitment and dedication to one’s alma mater and community.

Award Criteria

  • Significant: The recipients have addressed issues that have had a critical impact on the future of Dominican University or their community.
  • Effective: The recipient has been highly influential in achieving positive change. His or her work has a measurable record of accomplishment.
  • Innovative: The recipient is advancing a creative strategy that improves people’s lives.
  • Inclusive: The recipient helps build bridges among people with differing viewpoints or backgrounds.
  • Substantial: The recipient’s leadership has made a distinct and significant contribution to the community or the University.

Nominations

Recipients must be alumna/us of the University and must demonstrate at least two of the criteria to receive an award.

Proceeds from the Reunion & Alumni Hall of Achievement will go toward establishing an endowed alumni scholarship for a student of a Dominican University alumna/us.
