Doctor of Physical Therapy Program

The Physical Therapy Program of Dominican University, housed in the Health Science Division, invites applications for a part-time physical therapy faculty appointment with rank and salary commensurate with experience (preferred start date: August 2016). Responsibilities include teaching and research advising in the entry-level doctor of physical therapy, scholarly productivity, university service and student advising. The program is a non-traditional, weekend format which provides flexibility of traditional work week hour. The Doctor of Physical Therapy Program is accredited by CAPTE through 2018.
Requirements: Minimum qualifications include a doctoral degree or pursuing such, demonstration of scholarly productivity, ability to mentor graduate students in scholarly activity, academic teaching experience and clinical experience relative to the physical therapy areas, but not limited to the following areas: general, cardiopulmonary, integumentary, neuromuscular, and administration. The candidate must hold a physical therapy license and be eligible for a license in NYS. Preference will be given to candidates who hold an advanced degree, certification and/or specialization, have at least three years in each: clinical and teaching experience in specialized areas, and demonstrate evidence/potential for related scholarship and/or interdisciplinary research. In addition, candidates with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree with a strong desire to complete a post professional doctorate degree in the near future are also encouraged to submit an application.
