Dominican University seeks an individual with strong written, oral and social media communications skills. Reporting to the Director of Marketing the Communications Manager is responsible for writing press releases regarding University events, activities and partnerships. Writes content for student and faculty achievements, Annual Report, letters for the President, citations for graduations, brochures, flyers and other articles as appropriate. Prepares and keeps current content for web site and social media sites. Identifies and engages reporters and other influencers on social media. Develops and manages the main Dominican University social media presence. Photographs campus activities, hires outside photographer for higher level events and maintains photo archive and online archive. Assist the Institutional Advancement team with events as requested. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Two to three years’ experience in news media, radio a plus. Must have excellent writing skills and basic understanding of SEO copywriting, specifically optimizing web page copy by targeting keyword phrases in appropriate frequencies and densities and crafting compelling content that others want to promote it. Qualified candidate will be self-motivated, proactive and deadline oriented.
