Sign up for a Registration date

Registration dates will be available at beginning of the spring.  Once released, check in with your Admissions Counselor to select the best date for you.  Please keep in mind that classes are given out on a first come, first served basis for incoming students.

Meet with our New Student & Transition Center (we call them the Nest) to review your schedule. Your schedule will be built for you based on your intended major. Having the Nest create your schedule means that you will be on track right away!

Registration will enable you to connect with other first-year students as well.

Step

5

Complete Placement Assessments

Before your schedule can be created, you will need to complete the placement assessments at www.dc.edu/placement.

All students must complete the writing and math placement assessments.  Please contact your Admissions Counselor to find out if you need to take the reading placement as well.

Step

6

Access your University email

After your registration is complete, you will be able to access your University email account and find courses in Blackboard. Information on accessing your email will be sent to the personal email address associated with your original application.

It is important to activate your University email as soon as possible as most campus offices will contact you through your Dominican University email, not via the personal email addresses that may have been attached to your application.

Blackboard, a learning suite, houses notes, slides, and other materials to help you succeed. Blackboard can be accessed through the DC Portal, located at https://my.dc.edu.

Step

7

Sign up for Orientation

This wonderful campus experience takes place in the days before the semester begins. To prepare for orientation, students should complete online Title IX training and the New Student Orientation Suite.

Step

8

Submit your final transcripts

Arrange to have your final, official, transcripts sent to:

Dominican University Office of Admissions
470 Western Highway
Orangeburg, NY 10962

This includes all high school transcripts, as well as college transcripts and AP scores.

Failure to provide a final official transcript may result in the termination of your course schedule.

Step

9

Complete your health information

NYS mandated Immunization Forms must be completed by all students for measles, mumps, and rubella. If you are an athlete or resident student, you must also submit a form to the Health Center that acknowledges an immunization for meningitis or indicates that they are aware of the risks of not having such immunization. The Covid-19 vaccination, or an approved medical/religious exemption, is also required for all students.

Please follow these steps:

  • Download and print your immunization forms
  • Have your health care provider complete and sign the forms. Records from your high school or another university may be submitted in place of these forms.
  • Enter your immunization record information from the forms into the Medicat Patient Portal. Do not mail completed forms to the University; only uploaded documents into the portal will be reviewed. Forms must be completed by August 1.
  • Assure that you have adequate health insurance coverage. If you do not have health insurance, please contact the Office of Student Development at (845) 848-4080.

The Student Health Center provides most immunizations to students at a minimal fee.
