Dominican University New York publishes an Annual Security and Fire Safety Report in accordance with the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (commonly referred to as the Clery Act). Released by October 1 each year, the report provides important information about the University’s safety policies, procedures, and resources, including:
- Crime prevention initiatives
- Fire safety practices
- How to report crimes or concerns
- Educational programs focused on prevention and awareness
- Support services for victims and witnesses
- Disciplinary processes
- Additional details related to maintaining a safe and secure campus community
The report also includes statistics on certain crimes (known as Clery Act Crimes) that were reported to the Department of Security and occurred on or near Dominican’s campus, as outlined by the Clery Act. In addition, it provides information about incidents of fire within campus housing facilities

- Negligent manslaughter
- Robbery
- Aggravated assault
- Burglary
- Motor vehicle theft
- Arson
- Rape
- Fondling
- Incest
- Statutory rape
- Domestic violence
- Dating violence
- Stalking
- Liquor law violations
- Drug law violations
- Weapons law violations
- Hate crimes, including offenses like larceny, vandalism, intimidation, and simple assault based on bias
