Length of Program
The program is designed to be completed in 2 years (6 trimesters). Courses are held on Monday and Wednesday evenings. Each student must complete 1,000 clinical hours (FNP and DNP combined) in accordance with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing DNP Roadmap Task force Report. Each student will undertake a clinical scholarship project reflecting a practice site or population of interest supported by scholarly evidence in order to provide students with an opportunity to implement emerging science and practice innovations to improve the health care system. Students will also complete a portfolio.
Leave of Absence
In the matter of request for Leave of Absence, students must complete a Leave of Absence form found in the DNP Handbook. Students will receive a response within four weeks of their request. Requests for Leave of Absence must be made at least one month prior to the beginning of the next semester for which the leave is sought, unless extenuating circumstances prevail.
Interruption of Course Work for One Year or More
A student who does not take a course in the DNP program for one year or more must reapply for admission to the college. Faculty reserve the right to require students to repeat previous coursework based on the length of time that has lapsed since their previous enrollment.
