Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards ensure that you are successfully completing your coursework and can continue to receive financial aid. All students receiving financial aid at Dominican University New York are required to meet SAP standards.
SAP is reviewed at the end of each academic year and measures three things: your cumulative GPA, your pace of completion (the percentage of attempted credits you actually complete), and your progress toward your degree within a maximum timeframe. These standards apply to all students receiving federal, state, or institutional financial aid, including grants, scholarships, and loans.
If you fall below the required SAP standards, you’ll be notified and given information on how to appeal or get back on track. DUNY’s financial aid office works one-on-one with students to review academic plans, discuss appeal options, and help you maintain the aid you need to keep moving toward graduation.
